Welcome to Inspire Academic. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Inspire Academic website, apps, and related services (the "Service"), operated by Inspire Academic [Inspire Academic is not yet incorporated as a distinct legal entity — this section needs updating once it is, including who is legally accountable in the meantime] ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must agree to these Terms on your behalf, and by using the Service you confirm that you have their permission to do so.
Inspire Academic is built for GCSE and A-level students, their parents and guardians, and their teachers. To create a student account:
You must provide accurate information when registering (including your correct year group and exam board) and keep your account details up to date.
You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity that happens under your account. Tell us immediately at admin@inspireacademic.org if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission. Each person should have only one account; teachers and parents linking to a student's account is the one exception, handled through our teacher and parent portals.
Inspire Academic gives students subject dashboards, topic lessons, quizzes, flashcards, mock exams, and progress tracking across Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, mapped to AQA and Edexcel GCSE specifications. Teachers and parents linked to a student's account can see that student's progress, quiz results, and topic mastery.
Some content on Inspire Academic — including certain practice questions, model answers, and marking feedback — is generated or assisted by artificial intelligence. Section 4 explains what that means for you.
We use AI (currently models provided by Anthropic) to help generate practice questions and to mark free-response answers against a mark scheme. We build and review this carefully — question generation follows exam-board-specific rules, and marking is checked against explicit mark-scheme criteria — but AI-generated content and AI-assessed marks can still contain mistakes.
Inspire Academic is currently available on a free plan. We may introduce paid plans or premium features in the future. If we do, we will clearly show any price before you're charged, and these Terms will be updated to describe payment, billing, and cancellation terms at that time.
When using Inspire Academic, you agree not to:
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
Answers, notes, and other material you submit through the Service remain yours. By submitting them, you give us permission to store and process them in order to provide the Service to you — for example, to mark a free-response answer, calculate your topic mastery, or show your progress to a linked parent or teacher.
The Inspire Academic name, logo, design, lessons, question banks, and platform code are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. You may use them to study, in line with these Terms — you may not copy, redistribute, or use them commercially without our written permission.
Parents and teachers can be linked to a student's account, with the student's or their guardian's knowledge, to view that student's progress. Teachers using Inspire Academic through a school arrangement may be subject to additional terms agreed between us and the school. A dedicated schools/institutional agreement is currently under review — contact admin@inspireacademic.org for the latest position.
You (or, for a minor's account, their parent or guardian) can close an account at any time by contacting admin@inspireacademic.org. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms, or that has been inactive for an extended period, after reasonable notice where practical.
We work hard to make Inspire Academic accurate, reliable, and genuinely useful for exam preparation — but the Service is provided "as is". We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, that it covers every part of every exam-board specification at all times, or that using it will result in any particular grade or exam outcome. Exam success depends on many factors beyond any single revision tool.
To the extent permitted by law, Inspire Academic is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, such as liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Where local consumer protection law gives you additional rights wherever you live or study, those rights are unaffected.
We may update these Terms as Inspire Academic grows. If we make material changes, we'll let you know — for example, by email or an in-app notice — before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated Terms.
